John Peter Zenger was arrested for libel when he published the actions of government in his newspaper. How important was it for colonists to have reports of what government was doing? Is it as important to know what our government is doing in 2010? What is the best way to stay informed in 2010?

It was very important because could you imagine if no one ever told George Washington that we were going to war, we would never know what a great battle commander he was. Or no one told you that the government was rasing taxes and  one day you were just thrown in jail for not paying them. I think it is very important to now what the government was doing in both times because it never hurts to be well informed, also back to my previous point now a days if Oboma rased taxes and you never got the news of it you would lose your house, your car, and even your calculator watch! The best way to stay informed in the modern day is watch like fox or some other major news show. But if you dont have a tv then you could get on the computer and go to msn or some other news website. If you dont have a computer you could go old school and read the paper,it has a lot of good and useful infomation. If you dont get or have any of those than WOW! and I dont know how you are reading this.

Compare and Contrast Anne Hutchison and Metacom- two people who stood up for their beliefs despite persecution from society.

We would see that person as strang or different because anymore people never express themselves like that and if they do we see that person as strang or crazy. We also see that person as weird because they might have different views or beliefs than us and whats different and what we have not seen we as people see as strange. People also might be mad because they might be saying or preaching something that is someone elses mind is bad or blastfumy.

What is the single most important character trait Europeans needed to have to be successful when colonizing North America? What is the single most important character trait you need to have to be successful when you graduate?

One of the single most important character trait that Europeans needed in the North America is citizenship, I know they need this because for instance during the cold harsh winters if they would run out of food another citizen could help them by supplieing them with food through the winter. Another time they would need this would be when a woman doesnt have a husbin and she cant build herself a house the others to eather take her in there own, or even pitch in and build her one. I think the single most important character trait I want when I graduate would be resposibility because I mean you are going to be responsible for a lot of things in life for instince your kids, your car, your house, and your spouce so you have to do your job and take care of all that and not let people down.

What beliefs or customs from American Indian culture would be most useful to implement in the United States today

I think the most important thing that we can learn and use from the indians would be not to just let someone take something of yours. The reason I think this is because the English came over and tried to say hey this land is ours now leave. The indians could have just been like ok and left, but no they didnt give up without a fight. So that is what we should take from indian culture is to never give up.

Should we celebrate Columbus day?

I believer we should celebrate it because without him we wouldent have America. But on the other had he killed a lot of people, in the end I still believe we should.
